Summary:
Operating Procedures for Pneumatic Drilling
1、 The rock drill must be operated only by trained and qualified fixed-hole drillers.
2、 Before starting work, inspect the work site and prepare the work environment.
3、 Before drilling, check the following items:
(1) Check if all bolts and nuts on the rock drill are complete and tightened.
(2) The machine body must not have cracks.
(3) The pneumatic drill bit must be flexible and reliable.
(4) The oiler must be intact, and the oil passage must be unobstructed.
(5) All operating handles must be flexible and reliable.
(6) The rubber hose must not have any holes.
(7) The drill frame must not be deformed.
(8) The drill bit must be straight, the tail must be flat, and there must be no chipping or flaking.
(9) The eccentric hole of the drill bit tail water needle must not be larger than 1 mm.
(10) The length of the drill bit tail should be 108 ± 2 mm.
4. Before drilling, blow away dirt from the air supply pipe and joints to prevent it from entering the machine and damaging parts.
5. Before connecting the compressed air, return the operating handle and pressure regulating valve handle to the zero position.
6. The rubber hose nuts must be securely fastened and tightened to prevent loosening and injury.
7. Before use, fill the oiler with clean grease and adjust the oil valve. During operation, add oil to the oiler on time; do not operate without lubricating oil.
8. Before operation, run at low pressure (3 kg/cm²) or half-speed for about 10 minutes to check if the running sound is normal and if all operating handles are flexible and reliable. Only when the machine is normal can drilling begin.
9. When setting the hole, the driver and the drill bit holder must cooperate with each other and place the rock drill in the specified direction and position of the rock hole. The driver should stand on the rear side, hold the handle, and adjust the drill frame to the appropriate height. The drill bit holder should stand to one side, avoiding the driver's line of sight, hold the drill rod, watch the drill bit, and place the drill bit on the rock wall.
10. When the machine is started, start with low air pressure, and gradually increase the air pressure while the air leg thrust gradually increases. Do not suddenly start drilling when the air leg thrust is at its maximum, and do not run the drill idle for a long time to avoid damaging parts.
11. When the rock drill enters normal drilling, it can be operated by a single person and a single machine. The driver holds the handle part with one hand and adjusts the control valve and drill frame adjusting valve according to the drilling conditions with the other hand.
12. During operation, pay attention to the sound, bolts, joints, etc. If abnormal sounds or loose bolts and joints are found, stop the machine immediately and handle them.
13. During operation, frequently blow air or water to remove rock powder from the hole. If dust is flying, stop the machine and check the drill bit, drill rod center hole, and water injection structure, and handle them promptly.
14. Keep the drill rod in the center of the rock hole to avoid collision between the drill rod and the hole wall, causing breakage or jamming of the drill rod. If the drill rod is jammed, use a wrench to slowly rotate it and use medium speed to slowly drive it.
15. The air pressure of the compressed air pipe should be maintained within the range of 5-6 kg/cm², and the water pressure should be maintained within the range of 2-3 kg/cm².
16. Dry drilling is strictly prohibited, and removing the water needle is not allowed.
17. Do not drill in places where holes have already been drilled.
18. Do not operate while sitting on the support.
19. When drilling bottom holes, the drill frame should be at an angle of about 15 degrees to the bottom plate.
20. When drilling top holes, the drill frame can be slightly tilted forward, the rock drill can be slightly raised, after drilling 10-15 mm, the drill frame can be slightly raised, and the rock drill can be leveled for normal drilling.
21. When operating on slopes with a gradient of 45 degrees or more, the air pipe and water pipe should be fastened.
22. When multiple rock drills are operating in parallel in a large cross-section, it is advisable to use one rock drill per 2 square meters. The tasks of each rock drill should be clear, the blast holes should be numbered, long and short drills should be used in combination, and the operation should pay attention to the working conditions of surrounding rock drills to avoid mutual interference and prevent drill breakage and injury.
23. When moving the drill frame during drilling, the rock drill can be slowed down.
24. When pulling out the drill bit, half the air should be used.
25. After drilling, remove the water pipe first, and lightly operate to blow away the remaining water droplets inside the machine to prevent rusting of parts.
26. After drilling, clean the machine dust, coil the rubber hose, place it in a safe place, and do not throw it around.
27. When disassembling, assembling, and repairing, pay attention to:
(1) When the machine malfunctions, do not disassemble it at the work face. It should be repaired by repair personnel at the repair site.
(2) When disassembling and assembling the machine, ensure that the parts are clean, and apply lubricating grease to the surface of the assembled parts.
(3) When disassembling and assembling, parts should not be knocked casually, and the mating surfaces of important parts and the surfaces of various polished parts should be protected.
(4) Before using a new machine, disassemble and clean the internal parts, and wipe off the anti-rust grease applied at the factory. When reinstalling, apply lubricating grease to the mating surfaces of the parts.
